Decision 55/36

The Executive Committee decided:

1. To approve, in principle, the terminal phase-out management plan for the Central African Republic, at the amount of US $105,000 plus agency support costs of US $13,650 for UNEP and US $100,000 plus support costs of US $13,000 for the Government of France on the condition that the funds for the Government of France be disbursed only when the remaining balance from the RMP had been returned to the Multilateral Fund;
2. To approve the agreement between the Government of the Central African Republic and the Executive Committee for implementation of the terminal phase-out management plan as contained in Annex XII to the present report;
3. To urge UNEP and the Government of France to take full account of the requirements of decisions 41/100 and 49/6 of the Executive Committee during implementation of the terminal phase-out management plan; and
4. To approve the first tranche of the plan at the funding levels indicated in Annex IV to the present report.
