Following the presentation, the Executive Committee decided to approve the proposal for the development of HCFC phase-out management plans (HPMPs) for Pacific Island countries (PICs) through a regional approach, at the level of funding indicated in Annex IV to the present report, on the understanding that:
- The resulting HPMPs for the PICs would contain activities to meet the 35 per cent reduction target in HCFC consumption by 2020; and
- UNEP will continue to explore how the regional approach could be used in the implementation of the HPMPs for these 12 countries.
