Decision 97/54

Subsequently, the Executive Committee decided:

1. To note:
   1. The progress report on the implementation of the first tranche of stage II of the HCFC phase-out management plan (HPMP) for Senegal;
   2. The submission of additional activities to maintain energy efficiency in the refrigeration servicing sector, in the amount of US $120,000, plus agency support costs of US $15,479, for UNEP;
2. To approve the extension of the duration of stage II of the HPMP to 31 December 2027, on the understanding that no further extension would be requested;
3. To note that the Fund Secretariat had updated the Agreement between the Government of Senegal and the Executive Committee, as contained in annex XLVI to the present report, specifically Appendix 2-A, to reflect the extension of the duration of stage II and the revised funding schedule, which combined the second (2023) and third (2025) tranches, and the inclusion of the funding for additional activities for energy efficiency in the refrigeration servicing sector referred to in subparagraph (a)(ii) above, and paragraph 17, which had been added to indicate that the updated Agreement superseded that reached at the 88th meeting (decision 88/54);
4. To request the Government of Senegal, UNEP and UNIDO to submit a progress report on the implementation of the work programme associated with the final tranche on a yearly basis until the completion of the project and the project completion report to the first meeting of the Executive Committee in 2028; and
5. To approve the combined second and third tranches of stage II of the HPMP for Senegal, and the corresponding 2026–2027 tranche implementation plan, in the amount of US $507,730, consisting of US $358,000, plus agency support costs of US $46,180, for UNEP and US $95,000, plus agency support costs of US $8,550, for UNIDO, on the 
   understanding that the Treasurer would be requested to transfer the approved funds to UNIDO only after receipt by the Secretariat of the results of the feasibility study for the establishment of a recovery and reclamation system in Senegal, by March 2026, and review of the report by the Secretariat, in line with decision 88/55(e).
