The Executive Committee decided:
- To approve, in principle, stage I of the Kigali HFC implementation plan (KIP) for Angola for the period from 2025 to 2030 to reduce HFC consumption by 10 per cent of the country’s baseline, in the amount of US $924,036, plus agency support costs of US $64,682, for UNDP;
- To note that 387,800 CO2-equivalent tonnes of HFCs would be deducted from the starting point for sustained aggregate reductions in HFC consumption that would be established on the basis of guidance provided by the Executive Committee;
- To further note that the Government of Angola would put in place a ban on the import of HFC-based domestic and stand-alone commercial refrigeration units by 1 January 2029;
- To invite the Government of Angola, should it wish to do so, to include the year 2023 in its verification of HFC consumption;
- To approve the Agreement between the Government of Angola and the Executive Committee for the reduction in consumption of HFCs in accordance with stage I of the KIP, contained in annex XLVIII to the present report; and
- To approve the first tranche of stage I of the KIP for Angola, and the corresponding tranche implementation plan, in the amount of US $385,563, plus agency support costs of US $26,989, for UNDP.
