Decision 98/48

The Executive Committee decided:

1. To approve, in principle, stage I of the Kigali HFC implementation plan (KIP) for Namibia for the period 2026–2029 to reduce HFC consumption by 15.0 per cent of the country’s baseline, in the amount of US $367,250, consisting of US $195,000, plus agency support costs of US $25,350, for UNEP and US $130,000, plus agency support costs of US $16,900, for UNIDO;
2. To note the strong commitment of the Government of Namibia to support reductions in HFC consumption in advance of the Montreal Protocol targets;
3. To approve:
   1. The Agreement between the Government of Namibia and the Executive Committee for the reduction in consumption of HFCs in accordance with stage I of the KIP, contained in annex LXV to the present report; and
   2. The first tranche of stage I of the KIP for Namibia, and the corresponding tranche implementation plan, in the amount of US $220,350, consisting of US $113,000, plus agency support costs of US $14,690, for UNEP and US $82,000, plus agency support costs of US $10,660, for UNIDO.
