Following a discussion, the Executive Committee decided:
- To approve the request for funding at the level of US $114,480 plus support costs of US $10,303 for the World Bank for the phase-out of CTC as a process agent in the elimination of nitrogen trichloride during chlorine production at Prodesal S.A., Colombia, on the condition that the enterprise would have flexibility regarding the choice of the technologies presented in the project document; and
- To request the World Bank to examine technologies and eventual sectoral plans relevant to the phase-out of CTC in the production of chlorine with a view to identifying more cost-effective alternatives and to report to a future meeting.
