In the context of the discussion of project preparation for a terminal phase-out management plan (TPMP) for Angola (see paragraphs 112 to 115 below and decision 51/21), the Executive Committee decided to approve the request for TPMP preparation for Ethiopia submitted by the Government of France to the 50th Meeting, at the level of funding indicated in Annex VII to the present report, on the understanding that:
- Funding would not be disbursed until such time as official commitment in writing to ratify the London Amendment to the Montreal Protocol had been received by the Secretariat from the Government of Ethiopia;
- No further funding would be considered for Ethiopia until the country had ratified the London Amendment to the Montreal Protocol; and
- In developing and subsequently implementing the TPMP, the agency should take into account decision 47/10(e) regarding the inclusion in licensing systems of import controls for MB, CTC and/or TCA, as well as other CFCs.
