Bilateral agencies progress reports

Following presentation of document UNEP/OzL.Pro/ExCom/52/11, discussion on countries that had not submitted progress reports and the completion of the MAC recovery and recycling projects, the Executive Committee decided:

  1. To note with appreciation the progress reports submitted by the Governments of Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland;
  2. To request the Governments of Finland, Portugal, Sweden and the United States of America to provide their progress reports to the 53rd Meeting of the Executive Committee as a matter of urgency;
  3. To request the Governments of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Sweden to provide reports on the projects with implementation delays to the 53rd Meeting of the Executive Committee;
  4. To request additional status reports on the following projects:
    1. Customs officer training projects implemented by Australia in:
      1. Kiribati (KIR/REF/36/TAS/02);
      2. The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM/REF/36/TAS/01);
      3. Palau (TTR/REF/36/TAS/01);
      4. The Solomon Islands (SOI/REF/36/TAS/02);
      5. Tonga (TON/REF/36/TAS/01);
      6. Tuvalu (TUV/REF/36/TAS/02);
      7. Vanuatu (VAN/REF/36/TAS/02);
    2. Projects implemented by Canada:
      1. Recovery and recycling project in Chile (CHI/REF/35/TAS/147);
      2. Methyl bromide project in Kenya (KEN/FUM/26/DEM/20);
    3. Projects implemented by Germany:
      1. Recovery and recycling component of the refrigerant management plan project in the United Republic of Tanzania (URT/REF/36/TAS/14);
      2. Halon banking project in Algeria (ALG/HAL/35/TAS/51);
      3. Halon banking project in Croatia (CRO/HAL/43/TAS/24);
      4. Halon banking project in Nigeria (NIR/HAL/37/TAS/103);
      5. Regional halon bank for Eastern and Southern African countries (Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Namibia, the United Republic of Tanzania and Zimbabwe) (AFR/HAL/35/TAS/29);
      6. Recovery and recycling project in Egypt (EGY/REF/29/TAS/75);
      7. Recovery and recycling project in the United Republic of Tanzania (URT/REF/36/TAS/14); and
    4. Project implemented by Japan:
      1. Strategic demonstration project for accelerated conversion of CFC chillers (AFR/REF/48/DEM/35);
  5. To note the completion of the following mobile air-conditioning recovery and recycling project projects implemented by Australia:
    1. Micronesia (FSM/REF/36/TAS/02);
    2. Kiribati (KIR/REF/36/TAS/03);
    3. The Marshall Islands (MAS/REF/36/TAS/02);
