Decision 61/51

Following a discussion, the Executive Committee decided:

1. To thank the Government of Nepal for its letter contained in document UNEP/OzL.Pro/ExCom/61/Inf.3 on the special consideration of an HCFC phase-out management plan (HPMP), and to note the concerns expressed;
2. To reiterate the Executive Committee’s current guidelines requiring the ratification of the Copenhagen Amendment in order to receive assistance to phase out HCFCs;
3. To urge the Government of Nepal to ratify the Copenhagen Amendment as soon as possible and to provide a commitment to the Executive Committee that it would do so by a specific date; and
4. To consider the HPMP for Nepal at the 62^nd Meeting of the Executive Committee in light of any additional information regarding the commitment of Nepal to ratify the Copenhagen Amendment and to phase out HCFCs in accordance with the Montreal Protocol.
