The Executive Committee decided to approve, on an exceptional basis, the pilot project to maintain and/or enhance energy efficiency of replacement technologies and equipment in the context of HFC phase-down (non-investment activities): Introduction of a low global-warming-potential energy-efficient refrigeration technology in processed food distribution centres in Honduras, in the amount of US $278,068, plus agency support costs of US $19,465, for UNIDO, noting:
- That the Government of Honduras had committed to the conditions referred to in decision 91/65(b)(iv)b. to b(iv)d.;
- That the Government of Honduras would develop draft minimum energy performance standards for medium- and low- temperature condenser units and centralized systems in the project and would commit to move forward the development and implementation of those minimum energy performance standards in coordination with the energy-efficiency authorities; and
- That the project would be operationally completed no later than 31 December 2027, and that a detailed project report would be submitted to the Executive Committee within six months of the date of completion of the project, including a detailed description of the activities undertaken to disseminate the results of the technology demonstrations and promote the adoption of the alternative technologies selected.
