The Executive Committee decided to approve the pilot project to maintain and/or enhance the energy efficiency of replacement technologies and equipment in the context of HFC phase-down (non-investment activities) for Uganda, in the amount of US $435,200, plus agency support costs of US $56,576, for the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, noting:
- That the Government of Uganda had committed to the conditions referred to in decision 91/65(b)(iv)b. to (b)(iv)d. and was planning to establish minimum energy performance standards for the commercial refrigeration applications targeted by the pilot project;
- That the project would be operationally completed no later than 31 December 2026, and that a detailed project report would be submitted to the Executive Committee within six months of the date of completion of the project; and
- That the report referred to in subparagraph (b) above would include information on the energy-efficiency benefits achieved, the quantities of HFCs directly and indirectly eliminated through the project, and a detailed description of the activities undertaken to disseminate the results of the technology demonstration and encourage further conversions to the alternative technologies selected in similar applications.
