Decision 97/18

The Executive Committee decided:

1. To note the request by the Government of Armenia to transfer to UNIDO all activities included in stage III of the HCFC phase-out management plan (HPMP) and stage I of the Kigali HFC implementation plan (KIP) initially planned for implementation by UNEP;
2. With regard to stage III of the HPMP:
   1. To note decision 97/2 describing the return, by UNEP, of balances related to the implementation of its first tranche;
   2. To approve:
      1. The transfer to UNIDO of funding of US $58,300, plus agency support costs of US $4,081, to be included in the ongoing first tranche;
      2. The transfer from UNEP to UNIDO of funding of US $94,300, plus agency support costs of US $6,601, approved in principle and associated with the second and third tranches;
   3. To note that the Fund Secretariat had updated the Agreement between the Government of Armenia and the Executive Committee for stage III of the HPMP, as contained in annex XXIII to the present report, specifically Appendix 2-A, to reflect the transfer to UNIDO of the UNEP component, and paragraph 17, which had been added to indicate that the updated Agreement superseded that reached at the 96th meeting (decision 96/33);
3. With regard to stage I of the KIP:
   1. To note decision 97/2 describing the return, by UNEP, of balances related to the implementation of the first tranche;
   2. To approve the transfer to UNIDO of funding of US $66,000, plus agency support costs of US $8,580, to be included in the ongoing first tranche; and
   3. That the Fund Secretariat had updated the schedule of the HFC phase-down commitments and funding tranches under the KIP for Armenia (decision 94/39) reflecting the transfer to UNIDO of the UNEP component and incorporated the updated schedule into the Agreement between the Government of Armenia and the Executive Committee for stage I of the KIP, as contained in annex X to the present report.
