Following the informal discussions, the Executive Committee decided:
- To note the action plan related to the conversion of the enterprise Cool Point in the polyurethane foam sector under stage III of the HCFC phase-out management plan for Pakistan, as submitted by UNIDO and contained in document UNEP/OzL.Pro/ExCom/97/17;
- To note also that Cool Point had ceased its manufacturing operations and that there was a remaining balance of US $91,993;
- To approve the reallocation of US $71,993 from the balances from Cool Point to implement activities relating to support for outreach on regulations enforcement relating to the ban of HCFC-141b in foam applications and to awareness and technical information outreach on low-global-warming-potential alternatives in foam applications to facilitate the complete conversion of the foam sector from HCFC-141b (pure and in pre-blended polyols) to alternative technologies; and
- To note that UNIDO would return US $20,000, plus agency support costs of US $1,400 at the 98thmeeting of the Executive Committee.
