The Executive Committee decided to approve the pilot project to maintain and/or enhance the energy efficiency of replacement technologies and equipment in the context of HFC phase-down (non-investment activities): Integrated energy-efficiency transition in the cooling sector for the Dominican Republic, in the amount of US $331,000, consisting of US $200,000, plus agency support costs of US $18,000, for UNIDO and US $100,000, plus agency support costs of US $13,000, for UNEP, noting:
- That the Government of the Dominican Republic had committed to the conditions referred to in decision 91/65(b)(iv)b. to (b)(iv)d.;
- That the Government of the Dominican Republic would update the energy-efficiency standards for non-ducted single-split air conditioners and household refrigerators and freezers upon completion of the project; and
- That the project would be operationally completed no later than 31 December 2028, and that a detailed project report would be submitted to the Executive Committee within six months of the date of completion of the project, including a detailed description of the activities undertaken to disseminate the results of the technology demonstration and promote the adoption of the selected energy-efficiency technologies and practices.
