Following the informal discussions, the Executive Committee decided to approve the pilot project to maintain and/or enhance the energy efficiency of replacement technologies and equipment in the context of HFC phase-down (non-investment activities): Demonstration for the use of R-290 as the refrigerant in commercial refrigeration in Sierra Leone, in the amount of US $256,139, plus agency support costs of US $33,298, for the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, noting:
- That the Government of Sierra Leone had committed to the conditions referred to in decision 91/65(b)(iv)b. to b(iv)d.;
- That the Government of Sierra Leone would develop minimum energy performance standards and labels for commercial refrigeration equipment by 31 December 2027; and
- That the project would be operationally completed no later than 31 December 2027, and that a detailed project report would be submitted to the Executive Committee within six months of the date of completion of the project, including a detailed description of the activities undertaken to disseminate the results of the technology demonstrations and to promote the adoption of the selected energy-efficient alternative technologies.
