The Executive Committee decided:
- To note the information provided in document UNEP/OzL.Pro/ExCom/97/86 related to the update on the operationalization of testing centres for energy efficiency (decision 95/87(e));
- To consider providing funding to strengthen or upgrade existing energy-efficiency testing centres in manufacturing countries, in the context of proposals made or submitted under decision 94/60, taking into account the information provided in document UNEP/OzL.Pro/ExCom/97/86; and
- To request the Secretariat to prepare, for the 98th meeting, a document providing additional information on the purpose, objective and sustainability of new energy-efficiency testing centres in non-manufacturing countries, possibly identifying one or more subregions where such centres would be needed to assist Article 5 countries in meeting minimum energy performance standards developed with Multilateral Fund support.
