Decision 98/55

The Executive Committee decided:

1. To approve the project to replace an R-507A-based centralized refrigeration system with an ammonia-based recirculated system at a shrimp processing enterprise in Ecuador, in the amount of US $449,600, plus agency support costs of US $31,472, for UNIDO;
2. To note:
   1. That the Government of Ecuador had committed to the conditions referred to in decision 91/65(b)(iv)b. to d.;
   2. That the Government of Ecuador, upon completion of the project, would develop minimum energy performance standards for centralized industrial refrigeration systems, which would include technical specifications, performance metrics (including coefficient-of-performance benchmarks at defined operating conditions), compliance pathways and implementation recommendations; and
3. That the project would be operationally completed no later than 30 June 2029 and that a detailed project report would be submitted to the Executive Committee within six months of the date of completion, including a detailed description of activities undertaken to disseminate the results of the technology demonstration and to promote the adoption of the selected energy‑efficient alternative technologies.
