45.     The Committee then turned to the paper submitted by its Vice-Chairman, proposing a sector-based approach to supporting activities under the Interim Multilateral Fund. The proposal was very widely supported, although some members pointed out that such an approach placed an even higher premium on effective co‑ordination among the implementing agencies and that care would need to be exercised to ensure that the mistake was not made of assuming that technology could be automatically transferred among a wide range of countries. Some members considered it undesirable to include the names of individuals and/or companies in Committee papers. The Committee decided that in future presentations that practice should be avoided.
