Countries will discuss informally in a half-day session the strategic approaches to implement the Kigali Amendment.
A half-day informal session on the strategic approaches to implement the Kigali Amendment will take place on 26 May 2024, ahead of the 94th meeting of the Executive Committee.
Issues covered will include, among others, policies and regulations, cooling and phase down strategies, energy efficiency, sectoral plans and life-cycle refrigerant management.
The discussion on the strategic approaches will be further broken down on supporting action beyond Kigali Amendment compliance, supporting national or sectoral plans, targeting investments to Kigali Amendment implementation issues, and strengthening the capacity of Multilateral Fund institutions and stakeholders to implement the Kigali Amendment.
The discussions will be moderated by a professional facilitator, Dr David Fairman (Associate Director of the MIT Harvard Public Disputes Program).
