Decision 97/35

The Executive Committee decided to approve the projects and activities submitted for blanket approval at the levels of funding indicated in annex XXIX to the present report, together with the implementation programmes associated with the relevant tranches of multi-year agreement projects, relevant conditions or provisions included in the corresponding project evaluation documents, and conditions attached to the projects by the Executive Committee, noting:

1. That the following Agreements had been updated:
   1. Between the Government of Brunei Darussalam and the Executive Committee for stage II of the HCFC phase-out management plan (HPMP), as contained in annex XXX to the present report, specifically Appendix 2-A, to reflect the inclusion of funding for additional activities to maintain energy efficiency in the refrigeration servicing sector; and paragraph 17, which had been amended to indicate that the updated Agreement superseded that reached at the 91st meeting (decision 91/19);
   2. Between the Government of Chad and the Executive Committee for stage II of the HPMP, as contained in annex XXXI to the present report, specifically Appendix 2-A, to reflect the inclusion of funding for additional activities to maintain energy efficiency in the refrigeration servicing sector; and paragraph 17, which had been added to indicate that the updated Agreement superseded that reached at the 90th meeting (decision 90/37);
   3. Between the Government of the Congo and the Executive Committee for stage II of the HPMP, as contained in annex XXXII to the present report, specifically Appendix 2-A, to reflect the inclusion of funding for additional activities to maintain energy efficiency in the refrigeration servicing sector; and paragraph 17, which had been added to indicate that the updated Agreement superseded that reached at the 95th meeting (decision 95/48);
   4. Between the Government of El Salvador and the Executive Committee for stage II of the HPMP, as contained in annex XXXIII to the present report, specifically Appendix 2-A, to reflect the inclusion of funding for additional activities to maintain energy efficiency in the refrigeration servicing sector; and paragraph 17, which had been added to indicate that the updated Agreement superseded that reached at the 87th meeting (decision 87/38);
   5. Between the Government of Guinea-Bissau and the Executive Committee for stage II of the HPMP, as contained in annex XXXIV to the present report, specifically Appendix 2-A, to reflect the inclusion of funding for additional activities to maintain energy efficiency in the refrigeration servicing sector; and paragraph 17, which had been added to indicate that the updated Agreement superseded that reached at the 95th meeting (decision 95/50);
   6. Between the Government of Madagascar and the Executive Committee for stage II of the HPMP, as contained in annex XXXV to the present report, specifically Appendix 1-A and Appendix 2-A, to reflect the revised baseline for compliance, revised starting point for sustained aggregate reductions in HCFC consumption and the inclusion of funding for additional activities to maintain energy efficiency in the refrigeration servicing sector, and paragraph 17, which had been added to indicate that the updated Agreement superseded that reached at the 90th meeting (decision 90/41);
2. That the following Agreements had been approved:
   1. Between the Government of the Niger and the Executive Committee for the reduction in consumption of HFCs in accordance with stage I of the Kigali HFC implementation plan (KIP), as contained in annex XXXVI to the present report;
   2. Between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Executive Committee for the reduction in consumption of HFCs in accordance with stage I of the KIP, as contained in annex XXXVII to the present report; and
3. That, for projects related to the renewal of institutional strengthening projects, blanket approval included approval of the observations to be communicated to recipient Governments, as contained in annex XXXVIII to the present report.
