The Multilateral Fund's (MLF) independent evaluation process assesses the relevance, efficiency, and overall impact of its initiatives in Article 5 countries. A key element of the Fund’s growth and credibility, the evaluation function fosters knowledge and accountability, guiding efforts to enhance project strategies and operations. Led by the Senior Evaluation Officer (SEO), these actions ensure the Fund’s effectiveness in delivering its mandate.

Collaborating closely with the Fund's partners and stakeholders, and leveraging external expertise when needed, the evaluation unit strives to deliver insightful, timely and actionable recommendations to refine the planning and implementation of MLF funded projects. In doing so, it contributes to the Fund's mission and vision of a more sustainable world.

The Executive Committee approved the evaluation policy for the Multilateral Fund at its 96th meeting in May 2025.
